IAT 2026 to be held on June 7; Application Starts on March 5; Check New Updates & Eligibility Here

The IAT 2026 exam date has been released on the official exam website—iiseradmission.in. The exam will be held on June 7, 2026, for admission to 5-year BS-MS Dual Degree, 4-year BS, and BTech programmes offered by IAT 2026 participating institutes. There will be only one shift for IAT 2026, and it will be from 9 AM to 12 PM.

IAT 2026 Exam: Important Dates

The IAT 2026 application process will be live from March 5 to April 13, 2026, at iiseradmission.in. The application fee for the test for the General, EWS, OBC, and OBC-NCL categories is INR 2000. The IAT 2026 application fee for candidates applying under Persons with Disabilities (PwD), persons registered as Kashmiri Migrants/Kashmiri Pandits/Kashmiri Hindu Families (non-migrants), and the SC/ST category is INR 1000.

IAT 2026: New Updates

IAT 2026 exam officials have added two new courses to the list of IAT courses. These courses are the following:

1. 5-Year BS-MS in Geology at IISER Mohali

2. 5-Year BS-MS in Environmental Sciences at IISER Mohali

IAT 2026 Application Date & Eligibility Criteria

The IAT 2026 Application Form will be released on March 5, 2026 at iiseradmission.in. The last date to fill out the form is April 13, 2026. The candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria are eligible to apply for IAT 2026.

IAT 2026 Eligibility

• Nationality: Applicants must be Indian nationals, OCI/PIO/Foreign Nationals to apply for IAT 2026.

• Qualification for Indian Students: Candidates must have passed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination either in 2024 or 2025 or appearing in 2026 from any board recognised by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India.

• Qualification for Foreign Nationals: Foreign Nationals need to upload an equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities unless they have passed the Class XII or equivalent level examination in 2024 or 2025 or appearing in 2026 with science stream from any board recognized by the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE) in India. The equivalence certificate must be uploaded while submitting the IAT 2026 Application Form under "Please upload copy of document supporting your claim of Foreign National".

• Subject Requirement: Candidates must have taken at least three subjects among Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics during their Class XII (or equivalent) examination.

• Minimum Percentage Requirement: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD are required to score a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination. Candidates belonging to other categories are required to score a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in their Class XII (or equivalent) examination. Note that, the percentage needs to be calculated using aggregate marks, that is, considering ALL the subjects taken in Class XII (or equivalent) level.

• Eligibility for Specific Programmes: For admissions to the following programmes, candidates must have Mathematics during their Class XII (or equivalent): 5-year BS-MS in Computational and Data Sciences programme at IISER Kolkata, 4-year BTech programme at IISER Bhopal, 4-year BS in Economic Sciences program at IISER Bhopal and 4-year BS in Economic and Statistical Sciences program at IISER Tirupati.
