About SciAstra Diwas

SciAstra Diwas is our first offline flagship gathering, organised on National Science Day, 28 February 2026. More than a celebration, it is an effort to connect students and parents with the real world of science and research.

Dr. A. P. Jayaraman

Dr. A. P. Jayaraman (Chief Guest)

Nuclear Scientist & Former Head, Media Relations, BARC Ex-Chairman, National Centre for Science Communicators

Dr. A. P. Jayaraman is a senior nuclear scientist who worked at the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), contributing to India’s strategic nuclear research and science communication efforts. He is the only person alive who has worked closely with both Dr. Vikram Sarabhai, Dr. A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and Dr. Homi J. Bhabha, the founding figures of India’s space and atomic programmes.

Dr. Deepak Singh

Dr. Deepak Singh (Guest of Honor)

Former Scientist, ISRO Professor, IIT Bombay

Dr. Deepak Singh is an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Studies in Resources Engineering at IIT Bombay, where he conducts research related to planetary and space science. He completed his Ph.D. and M.S. from the University of Michigan and earned his M.Sc.Tech. in Applied Geophysics from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad. He also has research experience at the Physical Research Laboratory, Ahmedabad. Through his academic work and mentoring, he helps students understand how an early interest in science can gradually develop into careers in research and space science.
