IIT JAM 2027 Registration: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kharagpur will begin the IIT JAM 2027 registration process from September 12, 2026 onwards. Candidates seeking admission to postgraduate programmes in science and related disciplines through the Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027 will be able to submit their applications through the JAM Online Application Processing System (JOAPS).
According to the latest notification released by IIT Kharagpur, the IIT JAM Application window will remain open until October 12, 2026. The JAM 2027 examination is scheduled to be conducted on February 14, 2027, in online/CBT mode in two shifts to test candidates’ domain, critical and analytical understanding in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Economics, Mathematical Statistics and Biotechnology subjects.

IIT JAM 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying candidates are advised to meticulously check out the JAM 2027 eligibility criteria inorder to not lose their candidature at any stage during the admission process.
Candidates who have completed an undergraduate degree are eligible to apply.
Candidates appearing in the final examination of their qualifying undergraduate degree in 2027 can also apply.
Candidates must complete the qualifying degree within the prescribed timeline for admission.
There is no age limit for appearing in IIT JAM 2027.
There is no restriction on the number of attempts.
There is no minimum percentage requirement for appearing in the JAM examination.
Candidates with backlogs may apply, subject to fulfilling the admission requirements of the respective programme.
Candidates must separately satisfy the programme-specific eligibility criteria of the institute to which they seek admission.
How to Fill IIT JAM 2027 Application Form
Candidates can follow these steps to complete the IIT JAM 2027 application form:
Step 1: Visit the official IIT JAM website and access the JOAPS portal once the application window opens on September 12, 2026.
Step 2: Register using your name, valid email ID, active mobile number and a password. An Enrolment ID and OTP will be sent to the registered email ID and mobile number.
Step 3: Log in to JOAPS using the Enrolment ID or registered email ID and complete the application form by entering personal, academic and examination-related details.
Step 4: Select the preferred JAM test paper or papers and examination cities. Candidates should carefully check the test paper combination before submitting the form.
Step 5: Upload the required documents, including a recent photograph, signature, date of birth proof and applicable category certificate.
Step 6: Pay the application fee through the available online payment modes.
Step 7: Submit the application form and save/download the confirmation page for future reference. Candidates should also regularly check their application status on JOAPS.

JAM 2027 will be conducted across examination cities in India. Candidates are required to select their preferred examination cities while filling out the application form. IIT Kharagpur has also clarified that there will be no international examination centres for JAM 2027.
