What is KCET Exam?

KCET (Karnataka Common Entrance Test), also referred to as UGCET (Undergraduate Common Entrance Test), is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for admission to various undergraduate professional courses offered by participating institutions across Karnataka.

KCET is primarily used for admission to courses such as Engineering/Technology, Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharma), Diploma in Pharmacy (DPharma), Agriculture, Veterinary Sciences, and other professional undergraduate programmes, depending on the course-specific eligibility requirements.

For Admission to 1st Year

Eligibility: In the Qualifying Examination, the candidate should have

Architecture course (B.Arch)

The norms prescribed in COA / NATA/ Admission Rules; relevant Government orders are applicable in determining the eligibility and merit for admission to Architecture course. Interested candidates are advised to keep visiting the COA / NATA Website for updates.

Engineering / Technology courses (BE / BTech)

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std / Equivalent Exam with English as one of the Languages and obtained a Minimum of 45% of Marks in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry / Bio-Technology / Biology / Electronics / Computer. Note on Agriculturist Quota:

a. In the case of Agriculturist Quota, the merit list will be prepared based on 25% marks each, secured in concerned combinations in II year PUC (PCMB) & CET and 50% marks secured in the Practical Test.

b. Minimum of 50% marks in Practical Examination is required to claim a seat under Agriculturist Quota.

Further, Agriculturist Quota is applicable only for courses detailed in Sl. No. 3 and 4.

Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc & AH)

Passed in 2nd PUC / 12th Std. and obtained an aggregate minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English subjects. (40% for SC, ST, Cat-1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B category candidates)


In case of B.V.Sc & AH merit will be prepared based on 50% of Marks secured in CET (Physics, Chemistry and Biology) and 50% of marks scored in the practical test.

KCET 2027 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The KCET 2027 exam pattern is expected to follow the existing examination structure prescribed by the Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA). The exam is conducted in offline (OMR-based) mode, with objective-type multiple-choice questions. Candidates appearing for engineering courses are required to attempt Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, while candidates applying for courses requiring Biology take Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

The official KCET 2027 pattern will be confirmed by KEA along with the notification.

KCET Application Form 2027

The KCET Application Form 2027 is expected to be released online in January 2027. Candidates will need to register on the KEA website, enter their personal and academic details, upload the required documents and photographs, pay the application fee and submit the form.

KCET Admit Card 2027

After successful registration, candidates will be able to download the KCET Admit Card 2027 online using their login credentials. The admit card will contain details such as the candidate's name, roll number, exam centre, date, timing and important exam-day instructions. It is expected to be released shortly before the examination.

KCET Exam Date 2027

The KCET 2027 Exam is expected to be conducted in April 2027 in offline, OMR-based mode. The exact exam date and subject-wise schedule will be announced by KEA through the official notification.

KCET 2027 Exam Analysis

After the examination, the KCET 2027 Exam Analysis will provide candidates with an overview of the paper's difficulty level, subject-wise difficulty, important topics, question types and overall exam trends. It will help candidates assess their performance and estimate their probable scores.

KCET 2027 Answer Key

KEA will release the KCET 2027 Answer Key after the examination. Candidates can use the provisional answer key to calculate their probable scores. If they find any discrepancy, they may raise objections within the prescribed deadline. KEA will subsequently release the final answer key after considering valid objections.

KCET 2027 Result

The KCET 2027 Result will be released online by KEA after the completion of the evaluation process. Candidates will be able to check their subject-wise marks, scores and ranks using their login credentials. The result/rank will be used for admission and counselling purposes. In 2026, the KCET result was declared on June 6.

KCET 2027 Counselling

After the result declaration, eligible candidates can participate in KCET Counselling 2027. The counselling process generally includes registration, document verification, option entry/choice filling, mock allotment, seat allotment, fee payment and reporting to the allotted institute. Candidates should carefully select their preferred colleges and courses based on their KCET rank and eligibility.
