National Testing Agency, NTA conducted the May 30, 2026 at multiple exam centres across the nation. Due to technical issues at the CUET 2026 exam centres, the examination got delayed at several centres.

According to the official public notice issued by NTA on May 30, 2026, the technology service provider (TCS iON) of the examination was directed to conduct a root cause analysis after unforeseen technical issues affected the smooth conduct of the examination. These glitches caused delays at multiple centres during the first shift of the CUET UG 2026.

Technical Glitch Led to Delay in Examination

Earlier in the day May 30, 2026, NTA had mentioned that certain CUET 2026 exam centres experienced unexpected technical issues that delayed the start of the examination. In order to rectify the impact on candidates, the agency revised the CUET 2026 shift timing of the afternoon shift and assured students that compensatory measures would be implemented wherever necessary.

With the multiple complaints from candidates and parents regarding the delay, NTA has reviewed the situation and finally announced the CUET 2026 re-examination opportunity for affected students.

NTA Announces Re-Examination for 3,765 Candidates

As per the notice released by NTA, a total of 73,106 candidates were present at their allotted examination centres on May 30, 2026 and their biometric verification process was successfully completed. Out of these candidates, 69,341 students, representing nearly 95% of the total attendance, successfully appeared for the examination at their respective centres. However, due to the delay in the commencement of the test, 3,765 candidates chose not to wait for the examination to begin and left their centres without taking the exam.

In order to ensure fairness and provide equal opportunity to all affected candidates, NTA has decided to conduct a one-time CUET 2026 rescheduled examination for the 3,765 candidates who were unable to attempt the examination despite completing their biometric attendance process.

The revised examination date, city details, admit card release schedule, and other instructions will be announced separately through the official NTA portals.
