Step 1: Crack the CUET Exam Pattern

Before you dive into prep mode, understand what you’re up against.

Three sections. One goal. High score.

Section Focus Questions Marks
IA & IB Language Proficiency 40 out of 50 200
II Domain Subjects (like Physics, History, Eco) 40 out of 50 200
III General Test (Reasoning, GK, Maths, etc.) 50 out of 60 250

  • Total Score: 650
  • Negative Marking: Yep, -1 per wrong answer

Don’t just attempt—attempt wisely.

Step 2: The CUET Battle Plan (Post-Boards)

Your board exams are done. Now what? The post-boards phase is golden—use it well.

Phase 1: March–April – Concepts, Not Cramming

  • Pick subjects that align with your dream course (Max 6 domains + 1 language + General Test).
  • Stick to NCERTs. Yes, they’re still your best friends.
  • Daily Plan:
    • Morning (3 hrs): Domain Subjects
    • Afternoon (2 hrs): Language + General Test
    • Evening (1 hr): Current Affairs (newspapers, YouTube explainers, GK PDFs)

Phase 2: May – Mock Drill & Speed Work

  • Solve PYQs (download from the NTA site).
  • 2–3 mock tests a week, no excuses.
  • Revise from your own notes. They matter more than thick guides now.

Phase 3: June – Final Stretch

  • Focus hard on weak zones. Even a +10 boost here can make a huge difference.
  • Don’t open new chapters. No last-minute adventurism.
  • Most importantly? Stay sane. Stay steady.

Step 3: Subject-Wise Secrets to Success

Let’s break it down. Different sections need different mindsets.

Section I – Languages

  • Read like your admission depends on it. (Spoiler: it kinda does.)
  • Newspapers, novels, editorials—make reading a habit, not a task.
  • Practice comprehension, grammar, and sentence correction regularly.

Section II – Domain Subjects

  • Science: NCERT + problem-solving = success.
  • Commerce: Master the trio—Accounts, Business, and Economics.
  • Humanities: History, Polity, Geography—stick to the core NCERTs and build context.

Section III – General Test

  • Quant: Percentages, profit-loss, averages—basic, but tricky under pressure.
  • Reasoning: Puzzles, sequences, coding—you know the drill.
  • GK/Current Affairs: Stick to the last 6 months. Focus on sports, government schemes, awards, and global affairs.

Step 4: Final Week Game Plan

Exam day jitters? Totally normal. But here’s how to keep calm and conquer.

  • Time Management:
    • Language: 45 mins
    • Each Domain Subject: 45 mins
    • General Test: 60 mins
  • No blind guessing—negative marking isn’t just a rumor.
  • Read each question carefully. You know what they’re asking—don’t mess it up with speed.

Bonus Tip: Trust the Process, Not Just the Books

The biggest difference between toppers and the rest? Mindset.

Stay consistent, not perfect. Stick to your plan. Trust yourself. And don’t underestimate your potential just because you had a rough board paper.
