IISc Bangalore offers admission to the Bachelor of Science (Research) Programme through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT). The IAT is a national-level entrance exam conducted by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER).

IISc Bangalore Admission Process 2026: BTech in Mathematics and Computing
IISc Bangalore offers admission to the BTech in Mathematics and Computing course based on candidates’ ranks in JEE Advanced. Therefore, for admission to this programme, candidates must appear for JEE Advanced 2026. It is a second-stage national-level entrance exam conducted for admission to BTech, BS, BArch, BTech-MTech dual degree, BS-MS dual degree, Integrated MTech, Integrated MSc, and other undergraduate programmes offered by the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Candidates should note that only the top 2.5 lakh performers in JEE Main 2026 will be eligible to appear for JEE Advanced 2026. IISc Bangalore does not conduct a separate entrance exam for admission to the BTech in Mathematics and Computing programme.

IISc Bangalore 2026 Eligibility Criteria for BTech in Mathematics and Computing
Candidates who meet the following eligibility criteria are eligible to apply for IISc Bangalore's BTech in Mathematics and Computing programme.
The candidates should have appeared for the class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2024, 2025 or 2026, where Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in the first appearance. In addition, they must satisfy at least one of the following:
Must have passed and secured at least 75% aggregate marks in the Class XII (or equivalent) Board examination. The aggregate marks for SC, ST and PwD candidates should be at least 65%.
Must be within the category-wise top 20 percentile of successful candidates in their respective Class XII (or equivalent) board examination.
The marks scored in the following five subjects will be considered for calculating the aggregate and cut-off marks for fulfilling the top 20 percentile criterion.
Physics
Chemistry
Mathematics
A language (if the candidate has taken more than one language, then the language with the higher marks will be considered).
