Knowing the pattern of the NCET 2026 is imperative for candidates before starting preparation, as it helps them identify the subjects to focus on to score well. The NCET 2026 will have four sections: Languages, Domain-Specific Subjects, General Test, and Teaching Aptitude. Candidates must select 2 languages out of a total of 38 languages and 3 domain-specific subjects out of 26 subjects. About NCET 2026 ITEP

The NCET 2026 will be conducted for admission to Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP) offered by a total of 77 NCET participating institutes. These institutions include Central Universities, State Universities, and other institutions, including IITs, NITs, RIEs, and government colleges.

The ITEP offered through NCET 2026 will be a Dual Major Programme. The first major is in Education with School Specific Stage specialisation. The second major will be an opted discipline in streams like Science, Commerce, and Arts/Humanities. The duration of the programme will be 4 years.

NCET 2026 Exam Pattern

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NCET 2026 in the fourth week of April 2026. Candidates who are going to appear for the exam must check the pattern of the exam to understand the nature of the question paper. This can help them know the types of questions in NCET 2026 and the different sections in the exam.

The exam will be conducted in online (CBT) mode for a duration of 180 minutes. As per the NCET 2026 exam pattern, it will consist of Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) with a negative marking scheme.

NCET 2026 List of Languages

The first section of the NCET 2026 question paper will be “Language”. Candidates are required to choose any two languages (Language 1 and Language 2) out of 38 language options.
