JEE Main 2027 Registration with DigiLocker: The JEE Main 2027 Session 1 application form began on October 24, 2026. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has introduced mandatory identity authentication through the MeriPehchaan platform for JEE Main 2027 registration. NTA can access the necessary information through DigiLocker via the MeriPehchaan platform to conduct initial identity verification, subject to the candidate's consent.
Candidates can use DigiLocker, JanParichay or e-Pramaan, as supported paths on the registration portal, to complete the verification process.
This SciAstra blog explains how to complete identity verification through DigiLocker and MeriPehchaan.
Is DigiLocker Mandatory for JEE Main 2027?
DigiLocker itself is not compulsory for JEE Main 2027 registration, but candidates must follow the NTA-specified identity-authentication process. NTA has introduced MeriPehchaan, a government-backed Single Sign-On (SSO) platform, to facilitate authentication during registration.
The MeriPehchaan platform integrates three identity service providers: DigiLocker, JanParichay, and e-Pramaan. Candidates can use any of these to verify their identity. MeriPehchaan helps users access supported services through an integrated authentication system.
What Information Does NTA Take From DigiLocker?
DigiLocker is a mode to verify your identity under the MeriPehchaan Single Sign-On (SSO) platform. Candidates can choose one government ID, such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, driving licence, or APAAR ID, to link and pull personal identification data.
Candidates can also use other modes, such as JanParichay or e-Pramaan, to verify their identity to apply for JEE Main 2027.
