The JEE Main 2026 Application Process for Session 2 is open from February 1 to 25, 2026, at jeemain.nta.nic.in. Thereafter, NTA will allow candidates to make specific changes in their application form during the application correction window. The JEE Main 2026 Application Correction Window will remain open from February 27 to 29, 2026, on the official JEE Main website.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2026
Before filling out the application form for JEE Mains 2026, candidates must make sure they meet the eligibility criteria for the exam to avoid cancellation of their candidature. The JEE Main eligibility criteria 2026 are mentioned below:
JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria 2026: Age
For appearing in the JEE (Main) - 2026, there is no age limit for the candidates. The candidates who have passed the class XII / equivalent Examination in 2024, 2025 or are appearing in 2026, irrespective of their age, can appear in the JEE (Main) - 2026 Examination. However, the candidates may be required to fulfill the age criteria of the Institute(s) for which they are desirous of taking admission.
JEE Mains Eligibility Criteria 2026: List of Qualifying Exams
The qualifying exams for JEE Main 2026 include the following:
The final Examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognised Central/ State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi, etc.
Intermediate or two-year Pre-University examination conducted by a recognised Board/ University.
Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognised as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
A diploma recognised by AICTE or a State board of technical education of at least 3 years duration. viii. General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
Candidates who have completed the Class XII (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a Board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class XII Examination.
In case the Class XII Examination is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.

JEE Main Eligibility Criteria 2026: Year of Appearance in Qualifying Examination
Candidates who have passed the Class XII / Equivalent Examination in 2024, 2025 or those who are appearing in the Class XII / equivalent Examination in 2026, are eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2026.
Candidates who passed the Class XII / equivalent Examination in 2023 or before are not eligible to appear in JEE (Main) - 2026. A passing year for class XII (or Equivalent Examination) means the year in which the result of the candidate has been declared as ‘pass’ for the first time in that particular Examination (Class XII/ Equivalent Examination).
How to fill out the JEE Main 2026 Application Form?
The JEE Main 2026 application form is available on the official JEE Main website – jeemain.nta.nic.in until February 25, 2026.
Check out the steps to apply for the exam:
1. Fill out the JEE Mains Registration Form
Go to the official website of JEE Main - jeemain.nta.nic.in.
Click on the “Registration for JEE Main(2026) [Session I/Session II]” option.
Click on the “New Registration” option and read all the instructions related to the application process.
Fill out the required details, such as the candidate’s name, parents’/guardians’ names, gender, address for communication and present address.
Create a password to complete the registration.
After completing the registration, you will receive a system-generated Application Number via email and SMS.
2. Fill out the JEE Mains Application Form
To fill out the JEE Main Application Form, click on the “Already Registered Candidate” option.
Log in by using the provided “JEE Main Application Number” and the “Password” that you generated during registration.
Fill out personal details.
Choose exam cities (exam centres).
Upload your live photo and scanned copies of your passport-size photo, signature and Class X or Equivalent Certificate/Marks-sheet.
Upload PwD/PwBD Certificate (if applicable).
3. Pay Application Fee
Pay the JEE Main application fees as per your category. The category-wise application fees for the exam are mentioned on this page.
The fee must be paid online using Credit Card/ Debit Card/ UPI/ Net Banking.
Review all the entered details. Correct them if required.
Submit the form after reviewing it.
