NISER Bhubaneswar Admission Process 2026: Integrated 5-year MSc Programme
At undergraduate level, NISER Bhubaneswar offers Integrated 5-year MSc courses in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology. For admission to these courses, NISER Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (DAE CEBS) jointly conduct the National Entrance Screening Test (NEST). It is a pan-India exam which is held once a year.

NISER Bhubaneswar Admission Process 2026: 2-year MSc Programme in “Medical & Radiological Physics” + 1 Year Internship
NISER Bhubaneswar offers a 2-year MSc Programme in “Medical & Radiological Physics” + 1 Year Internship (MSc MRP). Candidates can apply for this course after complete a Bachelor’s degree with Physics as main/major.
Admission to the 2-year MSc Programme in “Medical & Radiological Physics” + 1 Year Internship is offered through IIT Joint Admission Test for Masters (IIT JAM) and Joint Entrance Screening Test (JEST), followed by a written test and/or interview. Candidates only need to qualify in one of the two entrance exams, IIT JAM or JEST, to become eligible to apply.
With this programme, NISER Bhubaneswar offers a 1-year mandatory internship in collaboration with hospitals. Students can pursue the internship after completing the 2-year course.
NISER Admission Process 2026: PhD & Integrated PhD Programmes
NISER offers two types of PhD programmes, PhD and Integrated PhD. Candidates can pursue a PhD at NISER Bhubaneswar after Master’s Degree.
Candidates who have completed a Bachelor’s Degree can apply for the Integrated PhD at the institute. This programme is combination of MSc and PhD.
First step for admission to PhD and Integrated PhD courses at NISER involves an open call by the institute.
Candidates are shortlisted based on the eligibility criteria of the respective schools and/or scores in the national examinations such as CSIR-UGC-NET/ GATE/ JEST/ GPAT/ DBT/ ICMR/ JGEEBILS.
