CUET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The CUET UG 2026 application form is expected to be released in the first week of March at cuet.nta.nic.in. The exam will be held in May 2026.  Only those candidates who meet the CUET UG 2026 eligibility criteria can apply for the exam. For their reference, the eligibility criteria are mentioned below:

While filling out the CUET 2026 application form, candidates need specific details related to their identity, qualifications, contact information, and other particulars. The list of these documents is available as follows:

• Valid Email ID and Mobile Number

• Government-issued Photo ID (Aadhaar Card/Passport/PAN Card/Driving License/Voter ID)

• Class 10 Marksheet (for date of birth proof)

• Class 12 Marksheet / Passing Certificate (if already passed)

• Class 12 Admit Card / Hall Ticket (if appearing in current year)

• Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS) issued by a competent authority

• PwD Certificate (if applicable).

• Recent Passport-size Photograph

• Scanned Signature

• Income Certificate (for fee concession/financial aid, if required)

How to Fill Out CUET 2026 Application Form

Step 1: Registration

To begin with the CUET UG 2026 registration, candidates must visit the CUET UG 2026 official website, fill out their personal details and enter their present address and address for communication.

1. Visit CUET official website

• Go to the CUET website – cuet.nta.nic.in.

• Scroll and click on the “CUET (UG) - 2026 Registration” option.

• Click on the “New Registration” option.

• Read instructions related to the application process.

• Click on the “Proceed” option”.

2. Fill out Personal Details

Fill out the following personal details:

• Candidate’s name

• Father’s/Guardian’s name

• Mother’s/Guardian’s name

• Candidate’s Date of birth

• Gender

• Confirm these personal details

3. Enter Present Address

Enter the following required present address-related details:

• Premises No/Name (Address/name of your house)

• Sub-locality (Optional)

• Locality

• Country

• State

• District

• PIN Code

Note: 

• The present address should be the address of the place where you currently live. This may be your own house, a rented house, or a relative’s house if you are residing there.

• The CUET exam centre will be allotted based on your present address.

3. Electronic Communication Address

Enter the following details that NTA needs to communicate with you:

• Email address

• Mobile number

• Alternate contact no. (Optional)

Note:

Make sure to add your email address and mobile number correctly, as these details will be used to send you all the important updates related to CUET UG 2026. The participating institutes you apply to for admission will also use these details for counselling (admission) purposes.

4. Enter Permanent Address 

Enter these details related to your permanent address.

• Premises No/Name (Address/name of your house)

• Sub-locality (Optional)

• Locality

• Country

• State

• District

• PIN Code

• Enter captcha code

If your permanent address is the same as your present address, select the “Same As Present Address” option and proceed.

Step 2: Fill out Application Form 

• Go back to the previous registration page. You can also click on the registration link again to reach this page.

• Click on the “Login” option under the “Already Registered Candidates” option.

• Enter the “Application No.” and “Password” provided to your email address and on your mobile number via SMS.

• Enter the provided Captcha code and click on the “Log in” button.

Tips: Note down your application number and password. This will help you download the admit card, check the result and other important details related to CUET UG 2026.

• Click on the “Complete Application Form”.

• Check all the details related to your present address.

• Fill out your details related to your “Permanent Address”.

• If your permanent address is the same as your present option, click on the “Same As Present Address” option.

• Enter the captcha, save details and proceed with the next step.

2. Register personal details

Enter the following personal details, which are required to fill out the CUET 2026 application form:

• State of Domicile

• Social Category Details (Enter only Central-level category.)

• Disability Details

• Other Details, including diabetes detail, place of residence – urban or rural, annual income, minority status, ward of defence personnel/ex-servicemen, claim for NCC Quota and claim for Sports Quota)

• Enter the captcha and save and proceed with the next step. If you do not have an AAPAAR ID, you can select “NO” and proceed with the next step.

3. Register identity details

• Enter your PAN Card/Aadhaar Card number.

4. Register APAAR ID

• If you have APAAR ID select “Yes” and enter the ID

5. Apply for Exam and Select Test Paper (centres)

• Select the subjects for which you want to appear in “CUET 2026”. You can select a maximum of five subjects.

• Select the “Question Paper Medium for Domain”. This medium will be the language in which the questions in your CUET domain subjects will be.

• Select three cities as your “CUET 2026 test centres”.

• Father’s qualification and education.

• Mother’s qualification and education.

• Enter the captcha code and proceed with the next step.

6. Register qualification details

• Enter Class 10 passing status and year, percentage/CGPA, board roll number and other relevant details

• Enter Class 12 passing status and year, percentage/CGPA, board role number and other relevant details

7. Register additional details

• Select “Yes” for this section if you have a twin and he/she is appearing for CUET 2026.

• Upload your passport-size photo and a scanned copy of your signature.

• The size and format of the photo and the copy of the signature should be as follows:

10. Final application and fee submission

• Pay the CUET UG 2026 application fee using a credit card/debit card/net banking.
