MHT CET 2027 Latest Update: The MAH CET Cell published a notice on September 28, 2026, on its official website, cetcell.mahacet.org, mentioning that the first session of the MHT CET 2027 exam will be held between December 15, 2026, and January 15, 2027.
The exam authority has not yet provided details about other important dates, fees, eligibility criteria, or exam pattern for the 2027–28 session.

What is the MHT CET Exam?
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra (MAH CET Cell).
It is conducted for admission to various undergraduate, postgraduate, and integrated professional courses offered by institutions in Maharashtra in Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Planning, Agriculture and related streams.
Note: The MAH CET Cell conducts separate entrance examinations for different courses and streams. The term MHT CET is primarily used for its entrance exams for Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, Planning, and related courses.
For other streams, different names are used. For example, the entrance exam for law courses is known as MH CET Law, while the entrance exam for B.Ed. courses is known as MAH B.Ed. CET.
For the technical education courses, the MHT CET examination is conducted for two subject groups:
PCM Group: Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, primarily relevant for Engineering and Technology admissions.
PCB Group: Physics, Chemistry and Biology, relevant for Pharmacy, Pharm.D, Agriculture and other programmes for which PCB is prescribed.

Is MHT CET Mandatory?
CET Cell Maharashtra also accepts scores of other entrance exams for admission to the following courses:
BE/BTech: MHT CET is mandatory for Maharashtra State and Minority Candidature candidates. For All India Candidature candidates, MHT CET is optional because JEE Main 2027 scores are given preference.
BPharm/PharmD: MHT CET is mandatory for Maharashtra State and Minority Candidature candidates. For All India Candidature candidates, MHT CET is optional because NEET 2026 scores are given preference.
Agriculture Courses: For admission to undergraduate agriculture courses, appearing for MHT CET is mandatory for Maharashtra State, OMS, and Minority Candidature candidates. However, JEE and NEET scores are also considered equivalent to MHT CET for admission purposes.
Note: Candidates can claim only one Maharashtra State Candidature type (Type A to E).
MHT CET 2027 Registration Form

MHT CET 2027 Exam Pattern
The MHT CET 2027 exam pattern provides details about the exam question papers for PCM and PCB, covering exam mode, medium, number and types of questions, duration and marking scheme.
Questions in the MHT CET exam are based on the Maharashtra State Council of Educational Research and Training syllabus.
Approximately 20% weightage is given to Class 11 in the exam.
Approximately 80% weightage is given to Class 12.
There is no negative marking.
PCM/PCB questions are multiple-choice questions.
Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are at the level of JEE Main in terms of difficulty, while Biology is at the level of NEET.
Questions are mainly application-based.
The total duration of the MHT CET 2027 exam is 180 minutes. PCM candidates will be required to attempt Physics and Chemistry in the first 90 minutes. After this, they will not be allowed to access the two sections. In the remaining 90 minutes, they will be required to solve the Mathematics section.
PCM candidates will be provided with the first 90 minutes to solve Physics and Chemistry in the MHT CET 2027 exam. The remaining 90 minutes will be reserved for the Biology section.

MHT CET 2027 Exam Frequency: How Many Times is the Exam Conducted in a Year?
MHT CET 2027 will be conducted in two attempts for PCM and PCB in December 2026 and January 2027. Candidates can choose to appear for either the first attempt or both attempts.

The MHT CET 2027 Centralised Admission Process (CAP) refers to the process through which candidates are admitted to MHT CET participating institutes based on their scores.
The process is conducted through the CET Cell CAP Portal, the link to which will be provided by the Maharashtra State CET Cell. The CAP includes the following steps:
