What is CTET?
CTET, or the Central Teacher Eligibility Test, is an exam conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to assess the eligibility or employability skills of aspiring Primary Teachers (Class I-V) and Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs) in India.
Most of the schools affiliated with the Central Board and various State Boards use CTET qualification as a recruitment criterion for teachers.
CTET includes two papers: Paper 1 for PRTs (Classes I-V) and Paper 2 for TGTs (Classes VI-VIII). Candidates can appear for either one or both papers depending on the classes they want to teach. They must also ensure that they meet the CTET eligibility criteria for the paper they apply for.
Note: Clearing CTET does not provide candidates with a guaranteed job as a teacher. Some schools may have additional recruitment procedures along with CTET. Therefore, candidates should check the specific recruitment process for the teaching position they are applying for.
