At the UG level, IISER Kolkata offers 5-year BS-MS Dual Degree Programmes in majors such as Biological, Chemical, Geological, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences.
The institute has recently added a 5-year BS-MS Dual Degree Programme in Space Physics.
In the first year of the BS-MS Programmes (except the BS-MS Programme in Space Physics), all students are introduced to basic sciences, which are Biological, Chemical, Mathematical, Physical, and Earth Sciences as well as Computer Programming and Humanities courses.
In the second year, the students select three pre-major subjects from the first five disciplines mentioned above.

1. Fill out the IAT 2026 Application Form
The first step for admission to the BS-MS Dual Degree programmes offered by IISER Kolkala is to fill out the IAT 2026 application form, as admission is offered to candidates through the IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2026. 2. Appear for IAT 2026

3. Participate in IAT 2026 Counselling
It is mandatory for all candidates selected in the IAT 2026 merit list to apply for the counselling process by visiting the IISER admissions website. The entire counselling process will be conducted online.
Eligible candidates will receive an admission offer via email. They can check for admission offers by logging into their application portal.
If a candidate receives an admission offer, they can either accept the seat or reject it. If the candidate rejects the offered seat or takes no action before the deadline, they will not be able to participate in further rounds of counselling.
If a candidate receives an offer, they must pay a seat acceptance fee online before the prescribed deadline to select “Accept & Float” or “Accept & Freeze”.
