IIT Kharagpur, the exam-conducting body for the academic session 2027–2028, has launched the IIT JAM 2027 official website on August 17, 2026. Candidates will be able to download the official IIT JAM 2027 Information Brochure from the official website on August 22, 2026.
The exam authorities will conduct the IIT JAM 2027 exam on February 14, 2027, in two shifts: the morning shift from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM and the afternoon shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Interested candidates will be able to fill out the IIT JAM 2027 Registration Form from September 5, 2026, and the last date to submit the application form is October 12, 2026.

What is IIT JAM 2027 Exam Date?
IIT Kharagpur, the JAM 2027 exam-conducting body, has announced the IIT JAM 2027 exam date. Every year, the exam authorities release the exam date while officially launching the website. The IIT JAM 2027 exam is scheduled to be held on February 14, 2027, in online (CBT) mode at multiple exam centres across the country.
JAM 2027 Courses
The Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) is conducted to provide admissions to
(i) MSc
(ii) MSc (Tech)
(iii) MS (Research)
(iv) MSc – MTech Dual Degree
(v) Joint MSc– PhD,
(vi) MSc – PhD Dual Degree, at the IITs for taking up science as a career option for the students.
There will be around 89 postgraduate programmes offered across 23 IITs for the academic year 2027-2028. Selected candidates will be given admission to around 3000 seats in various postgraduate programmes at IITs.
IIT JAM 2027 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who have completed their undergraduate degree or are appearing for the final examination of their qualifying degree in 2027 meet the JAM 2027 eligibility criteria
Admission through JAM 2027 is subject to the following eligibility conditions:
The undergraduate programme should have been completed before the date of admission of the respective Admitting Institute.
Proof of having passed the qualifying degree with the required eligibility, as specified by the respective Admitting Institute, must be submitted within the prescribed timeline.
