The NCET 2027 exam will tentatively be conducted in the third week of April 2027 in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode for admission to 4-year Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEP) offered by state and central universities and other participating institutes, including IITs, NITs and RIEs.
NCET ITEP is an entrance exam for 4-year integrated BEd courses. It tests candidates’ aptitude for becoming a teacher in India.
The NCET 2027 registration form is likely to be released in the second week of February 2027 at exams.nta.nic.in/ncet.
Students who have passed the Class 12 final exam or an equivalent exam, or are appearing for the same in 2027, are eligible for NCET 2027. There is no age limit to appear for the exam. However, candidates must fulfil the age criteria (if any) of the University/Institution/Government College to which they wish to take admission.

What is the NCET Exam?
The National Common Entrance Test (NCET) is an entrance exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for admission to Integrated Teacher Education Programmes (ITEPs) offered by selected state and central universities, Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), National Institutes of Technology (NITs) and Regional Institutes of Education (RIEs). The courses include 4-year integrated BEd programmes such as BSc BEd, BA BEd, BCom BEd, BTech BEd and other related programmes.

NCET Exam Date 2027
The tentative NCET ITEP 2027 exam date is the third week of April 2027. The exam will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode at various exam centres across India. Candidates will have to visit their allotted exam centre to appear for NCET 2027.

NCET 2027 List of Qualifying Exams
The qualifying exams are the Class 12 or equivalent exams that candidates must pass to be eligible for NCET 2027. The qualifying exams for NCET 2027 are listed below:
The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognised Central/State Board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi; Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi; etc.
Intermediate or two-year pre-university examination conducted by a recognised board/university.
Final examination of the two-year course of the Joint Services Wing of the National Defence Academy.
Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of five subjects.
Any Public School/ Board/ University examination in India or any foreign country is recognised as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
Higher Secondary Certificate Vocational Examination.
Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 Examination.

NCET Registration 2027
The NCET 2027 registration form will tentatively be released in the second week of February 2027 on the official NCET website – exam.nta.nic.in/ncet. To fill out the form, candidates are required to use the following steps:
How to fill out the NCET Registration Form 2027?
Step 1: Registration
Register for the NCET 2027 by visiting the NCET 2027 official website, exams.nta.nic.in/ncet and clicking on the registration link.
Provide your required personal details, create a password, and select security questions and answers.
After successful submission, a system-generated Application Number will be issued to candidates.
Note it down, as you will need it to complete the application form and for future correspondence.
Step 2: Application Form
Log in to the application/registration portal using the Application Number and password and complete the application form by providing:
Personal and educational details
University/programme and test paper preferences
Examination city choices
Required photographs, signature and certificates
Candidates must upload a recent colour passport-size photograph, signature and, where applicable, Disability/UDID certificate and identity proof in the prescribed format and size.
The photograph should show 80% of the face, including the ears, without a mask, against a white background. Candidates must upload their own documents and ensure that all details and images are correct.
Select any four cities as your preferred NCET exam centres.
Step 3: Fee Payment
Pay the prescribed application fee online using Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card or UPI.
After successful payment, download the Confirmation Page.
If the Confirmation Page is not generated, candidates should check the transaction status and make another payment if required.
Step 4: Confirmation Page
The first three steps can be completed together or separately. The application is considered successfully submitted only after the successful payment of the application fee.
Download, save and print the Confirmation Page for future reference.
Keep the Application Number and password safe, and do not share the password with anyone.

NCET Exam Pattern 2027
The NCET 2027 exam pattern provides details about the key features of the NCET 2027 question paper. These include the exam mode, medium (language), duration, types and number of questions, number of sections and marking scheme.
As per the latest exam pattern, there will be four sections in the NCET 2027 question paper. Section I will be Languages, in which candidates will have to select two languages from the 38 language options provided by the exam authority. Therefore, Section I will include two papers: Language Paper 1 and Language Paper 2.
In Section II – Domain-Specific Subjects, candidates are required to select 3 subjects out of 26 domain subjects. This section includes three papers: Domain-Specific Subject 1, Domain-Specific Subject 2 and Domain-Specific Subject 3.
Section III and Section IV will be General Test and Teaching Aptitude, respectively.
Candidates can choose subjects in Section I and Section II. However, Section III and Section IV are mandatory.
Candidates can choose from 38 languages and 26 domain subjects. Before selecting their preferred subjects, they should refer to the NCET 2027 languages and domain subjects list to understand the available options.

In total, there will be 160 questions to be attempted out of 181 questions. There will be a choice of 3 questions in each subject (Language/Domain-Specific Subject/Teaching Aptitude/General Test).
The examination may be conducted on multiple days in two shifts, depending on the number of candidates and subject choices.

The NCET 2027 syllabus will be based on the Class 12 NCERT curricula for languages and domain subjects.
The NCET 2027 General Test syllabus includes General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Mental Ability, Numerical Ability, Reasoning, Logical and Analytical Reasoning, and General Science and Environment Literacy.
The Teaching Aptitude syllabus prominently includes topics related to pedagogy, educational technology and ICT in education, classroom management, etc.

NCET Admit Card 2027
The admit card or hall ticket for NCET 2026 will tentatively be released in the fourth week of April 2026 on the official NCET exam website. The steps to download the NCET 2027 admit card are as follows:

Click on the “Admit Card” link.
Log in using the provided registration number and password created at the time of registration.
Your admit card will appear on the screen.
Click the download button to save the admit card as a PDF.

NCET Answer Key 2027
The NCET 2027 answer key will be released by the NTA on the official website after the examination. The answer key will contain the correct answers to the questions asked in the NCET 2027 question paper.
Candidates will be able to use the answer key to check their responses, calculate their probable scores and assess their performance in the examination.
NTA will first release the provisional answer key tentatively in the third week of May 2027 at exam.nta.nic.in/ncet. Candidates will be allowed to raise objections against any answer they consider incorrect in the provisional answer key.
After reviewing the objections, NTA will release the NCET 2027 final answer key tentatively in the second week of June 2027. The final answer key will be used for evaluating candidates' responses.
Candidates will be able to download the NCET 2027 answer key by logging in to the official website using their application number and password or other required credentials.
NCET Result 2027
NTA will tentatively announce the NCET 2027 exam result in the third week of June 2027 at exams.nta.ac.in/ncet.
Candidates can use the following steps to check the result:
Visit the official NCET website: exams.nta.ac.in/ncet.
Click on the “Result” link.
Log in using the provided registration number and password created at the time of registration.
Your result will appear on the screen.
