For the academic session 2027–28, the National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to conduct the NEET 2027 exam for admissions to various undergraduate medical courses. Based on the former Education Minister's statement, the exam may be conducted in online/Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode.

Based on previous years' trends, the NEET 2027 exam is tentatively expected to be held in the first week of May 2027. The exam will be conducted for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BAMS, BUMS, BVSc & AH, and other allied courses.

What is NEET 2027 Exam?

NEET UG 2027 is a national-level medical entrance examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) for aspirants seeking admission to UG  medical institutes in India. It is the single gateway for programmes such as MBBS, BDS and BVSc & AH offered by government and private medical colleges.

The exam is held once a year in offline (pen-and-paper) mode and tests candidates on Physics, Chemistry, and Biology based on the Class 11 and 12 syllabus. Students who have passed or are appearing in Class 12 with PCB subjects and meet the minimum age requirement can apply.

NEET UG 2027 scores are used for counselling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for All India Quota seats and by respective state authorities for state quota admissions.

NEET 2027 Eligibility Criteria

It is very important for candidates applying for medical courses through the NEET exam to meticulously go through the NEET UG 2027 eligibility criteria to avoid losing their candidature at any stage of the admission process.

NEET 2027 eligibility criteria stipulate the minimal eligibility criteria like educational, age relaxation, nationality and reservation required for an applicant to satisfy:

Age Limit:

He/She has completed the age of 17 years as on or before 31st December of the year that the candidate shall be appearing for NEET-UG examination. Candidates must note that there is no upper age limit for them to appear for the exam.

Nationality

Interested applicants must be Indian citizens. Non-resident Indians, Overseas Citizens of India, Persons of Indian Origin and foreign nationals are also eligible to appear for the exam. Indian Citizens/ Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) intending to pursue Undergraduate Medical Courses in a foreign Medical/ Dental Institute also need to qualify for NEET (UG).

Educational Qualifications

Students who have completed Class 12 with Biology or Biotechnology as an additional subject, along with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and English, are eligible to appear for the exam. While submitting the NEET 2027 application form online, candidates must select the appropriate qualifying examination code based on their academic qualifications.

NEET 2027 Registration Form

The NEET UG 2027 registration form is expected to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) in the second week of February 2027 on the official website. Interested applicants will be required to fill out the NEET 2027 application form in online mode and ensure they avoid common mistakes while completing it.
Before filling out the NEET 2027 application form, candidates are advised to keep all the required documents, correctly sized photographs, and accurate details ready. Check out the simple steps below to fill out the NEET 2027 application form.

Step 1: Register on the NEET Website
Applicants need to visit the official website of the National Testing Agency and click on “New Registration.” Before applying, read all the instructions carefully and create a registered account.

Step 2: Fill in Personal and Academic Details
Registered candidates must enter personal details such as nationality, gender, category, and address. They also need to fill in Class 10 and Class 12 details, select the NEET 2027 exam city preference, and choose the exam language. Ensure all details are filled in correctly.

Step 3: Upload Scanned Documents
After entering the required details, upload the documents mentioned in the information brochure. These include a passport-size photograph, signature, Class 10 certificate, and category or PwD certificate (if applicable) in the specified format.

Step 4: Pay the NEET 2027 Registration Fee
The final step is paying the NEET UG 2027 registration fee online using Debit/Credit Card, Net Banking, UPI, or e-wallet.

NEET 2027 Syllabus 

The NEET 2027 syllabus is expected to be released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on the official website along with the information bulletin. Candidates preparing for the examination should download the NEET 2027 syllabus PDF and check the list of topics prescribed for the examination. Candidates are advised to download the NEET 2027 Syllabus PDF for Biology, Physics, and Chemistry.

Unless notified otherwise by the authorities, the NEET 2027 syllabus is expected to remain similar to the syllabus prescribed by the National Medical Commission (NMC).  Until the NEET 2027 syllabus is officially released, candidates can refer to the previous year's syllabus to continue their preparation without interruption.

Candidates must note that the NEET Syllabus for the academic session 2027-2027 is now available for all the subjects- Physics, Chemistry and Biology. NEET 2027 Exam Pattern

The National Testing Agency will specify NEET UG 2027 exam pattern to assess candidates’ domain understanding based on the prescribed syllabus. As per the updated NEET 2027 exam pattern, 45 questions will be asked from each subject—Zoology, Botany, Physics, and Chemistry. The exam will be conducted for a total of 720 marks and will follow a negative marking scheme.

When is the NEET 2027 Exam?

The NEET 2027 examination is tentatively scheduled to be conducted in the first week of May 2027 at multiple examination centres across the country. The duration of the examination is expected to be three hours. As per the expected guidelines, PwD/PwBD candidates having a physical limitation to write will be provided with one hour of compensatory time for the three-hour examination, irrespective of whether they avail themselves of the facility of a scribe or not.

NEET 2027 Exam Medium

NEET UG 2027 will be conducted in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu mediums. Candidates will be allowed to choose one language among the mentioned languages.

• The medium of the Question Paper should be carefully chosen while filling in the Application Form. The option once chosen cannot be changed.

• Candidates opting for English would be provided a Test Booklet in English medium only.

• Candidates opting for Hindi would be provided with a Bilingual Test Booklet in English and Hindi medium.

• Candidates opting for Regional Languages would be provided a Test Booklet in English + selected Regional Language medium. (For Example: If a candidate opted Tamil (out of 13 languages), the Test Booklet would be provided in English + Tamil.

• In case of any ambiguity in the translation of a question in the test, its English version shall be treated as final and the decision of NTA shall be final in this regard.

• For the correctness of the questions in all the question papers, the English version will be taken as final.
