CUET Chemistry Books for Preparation

Candidates must understand that preparing for the CUET Chemistry exam requires a strategic approach. Before you select any study materials, it's crucial for the students to first familiarize themselves with the official exam pattern and CUET 2026 syllabus. There is no single book that can cover every aspect of the examination. Therefore, it's best for the candidates to use a combination of resources. The primary and most essential resource for the preparation is NCERT Class 12 Biology textbook. Once you have a strong foundation from the NCERT book, you can supplement your preparation with other books for practice and a deeper understanding. Here is a list of recommended books for a comprehensive CUET 2026 preparation:
Book NameWhat’s Good About ItWhen / How to Use
NCERT Chemistry (Class 11 & 12 textbooks & exemplars)Covers almost all core theory; many CUET questions come directly from NCERT.First read thoroughly; use for basics & diagrams; revise many times.
Physical Chemistry by R.K. GuptaGood for topics like thermodynamics, chemical equilibrium etc.; well‑explained theory + practice. Use when you want deeper understanding in physical chemistry.
Organic Chemistry / Inorganic Chemistry by O.P. TandonStrong explanations, many practice problems, good for organic/inorganic bits. After finishing NCERT for that chapter, use Tandon for more practice & tricky parts.
Oswaal NTA CUET Chapterwise Question Bank ChemistryChapterwise + topicwise questions, smart‐notes, previous years’ papers. After finishing theory, for rigorous practice and pattern familiarity.

Preparation Tips for CUET Chemistry Exam

If you're planning to take the CUET Chemistry exam for the academic session 2026-2027, one can use the following strategies to maximise your performance:
  1. Know the Syllabus & Exam Pattern inside out: At First candidates need to carefully study the CUET Chemistry syllabus which include Class 12 Chemistry NCERT Books. After that understand the exam pattern to gain understanding about the number of questions, marks per question, time allowed, negative marking etc.
  2. Gather and Use Good Study Material: During the first phase of preparation one needs to study the NCERT textbooks thoroughly as most questions are built on NCERT concepts. Get reliable CUET guidebooks and trusted online resources. Use study aids like summary notes, reaction maps, formula sheets.
  3. Create a Structured Study Plan: In order to crack the CUET 2026 Chemistry exam and get their desired university one needs to devote at least 2‑3 hours daily to Chemistry, with regular slots for revision to prevent forgetting earlier topics. Also candidates need to allocate more time to high‑weight and weak topics.
Break your plan into phases: learning → practice → revision.
  1. Practice Intensively: It is highly advisable for the candidates to solve previous years’ CUET question papers and mock tests. This helps you get familiar with types of questions, time constraints, and recurring themes. Doing the previous year question paper analysis trend, one can identify which topics you are strong in, and which need more work.
  2. Time Management & Exam Strategy: Try to solve as many previous year question papers and mock tests. This will help you in managing the time. Don’t spend too long on any one question.
