IISER 2026 Student Reactions

Student 1:
According to one of the IAT 2026 test takers, the Biology section was easy, with several questions asked directly from NCERT. Around 2–3 questions were concept-based. The Physics section was moderate to difficult and required critical and analytical thinking. The Mathematics section was moderately difficult but easier than the JEE Main Mathematics standard. The Chemistry section was also moderately difficult, with Class 11 topics carrying more weightage than Class 12 topics.
Student 2:
According to the second student with whom SciAstra interacted, the Mathematics and Physics sections were difficult. The Chemistry section was moderately difficult, while the Biology section was manageable.
Student 3:
The third student reported that the Chemistry section was lengthy and required effective time management. The Mathematics section was easy and included questions from Functions and Relations, Matrices, and Probability.
Student 4:
The fourth student, who belonged to a PCB background, found the Mathematics section challenging, while Physics remained the toughest section for them.
Overall Student Feedback:
After interacting with a large number of students, SciAstra found that the Mathematics section was generally considered easier by PCM students, whereas the Biology section was found to be easier by PCB students.
